Conclusion

  If we would trust that the parameters we used are sufficient to describe the pollution distribution in the Bagnoli site, we would conclude that:

  1. Due to the elimination of the source (steelwork closing), pollution is moving from the coast toward the open sea and from the surface to the bottom.
  2. Actually the most polluted zone is about 20 m off the coast

  Obviously this is a too simple evaluation as the position of the sampling points as well as the marine currents play an important role
