Why "on boat" measurements?

Measurements performed "in situ" allows a better accuracy and reproducibility, moreover systematic errors can be immediately individuate and measurements can be repeated; so, analysis "on the boat" were performed.

As an alternative to a multiparametric probe, that suffers the typical shed wakes error, part of the sample going out the Niskin bottle was used for measurements by ionselective electrodes.
