Industrial and factory time list

(1853) Lefevre, an industry of chemical products and fertilizers, together with the Bournique Glassworks, installed close to the beach
(1900) following the industrial revolution, the authority looked for a zone near Naples to install a steel industry
(1905) the first blast furnace was built
(1911 ) the first steelwork was inaugurated and, successively, continuously expanded in despite of the two wars and of the American bombardments
(1927) the first cement factory born and in 1936 begun the Eternit (cement-asbestos) production
(1954) the industrial expansion continued; a diversified productions (i.e. copper sulphate) started, Cementir born and reuses the blast furnace slag
(1993) the steelworks closed and in 1996 a project for the remediation of the site started, aiming to restore an urban-useable place

In the middle of the years 70 (the maximum expansion period) at least 10.000 workers, technicians and clerks, were employed, moreover further spin-off on the Bagnoli economy derived from the presence of so much people
